Marburg gives gifts at Easter
The German-Ukrainian Association MAVKA and the Marburg initiative ‘Mit der Ukraine im Herzen’ (With Ukraine in our hearts) are announcing this year’s Easter aid project in cooperation with the Ukrainian non-profit organisation ‘The Key to the Future’ (https://www.facebook.com/JingleKidsOdesa) and with the support of the Lutheran parish church of St. Mary and the Elisabeth Church!
The NGO ‘The Key to the Future’ supports families with seriously ill children in the city of Odessa and the surrounding region. Currently, 360 children are under their care, requiring constant attention and nursing. During the Russian war in Ukraine, it has become even more difficult to provide them with everything they need. That is why we have decided to help ‘The Key to the Future’ organise a small celebration for these children on Ukrainian Easter (5 May). Until mid-April, we will be collecting gift sets for children from anyone who would like to contribute, which we will then send to the NGO ‘The Key to the Future’ in Odessa. The German-Ukrainian association MAVKA is organising the transport and covering the costs.
If you would like to participate in our project, you can collect a small gift set (example below) and bring it to one of our collection points or help financially with a donation (bank details below, it is considered a donation for tax purposes). Together, we can bring joy to children who need it so much!
How to put together a gift set
The gift box does not need to be very large; think of the size of an average shoebox. Wrap the box and label it with the approximate age and gender of the child (if applicable). Optionally, include a card with your contact information (e.g., email) for feedback, a drawing by the child, etc. An example of a gift box:
– Toys
– Sweets
– Clothing (in good condition)
– Craft supplies
– Hygiene items (nappies, towels, etc.)
– etc.
