Rally for Ukraine’s Independence Day on 24 August 2022

On 24 August 2022, Ukraine celebrated the 31st anniversary of its independence. At the same time, the comprehensive invasion by the Russian Federation, which violates international law, entered its seventh month on that day. This invasion not only threatens Ukraine’s state independence, but is also intended by Putin as a war of annihilation against everything Ukrainian.

To send a message of solidarity at this crucial time for Ukraine, the Initiative xxx and the Initiative Zeitenwende Marburg invited the people of Marburg to celebrate Ukraine’s Independence Day together.

The rally took place at 6 p.m. on the square in front of the Erwin Piscator House. There were speeches and a cultural programme.
