Theatre play for children ‘In the land of the sun’s rays’

The Kyiv Theatre for Modern Drama and Comedy is coming to Marburg again!
On 25 March, they will be performing the children’s fairy tale ‘In the Land of Sunbeams’ based on the story by Vsevolod Nestayko. The performance is in Ukrainian, there will be an introduction in German.
During the performance you will have the opportunity to buy handmade souvenirs and enjoy homemade Ukrainian delicacies.
Admission: free; a donation is recommended: 6 euros for children, 14 euros for adults.
All donations collected will be used exclusively to cover the artists’ travelling expenses and for our future projects

Description:

In the magical land of sunbeams live extraordinary creatures – sunbeams – that give children joy, laughter and good humour. With the help of the sunbeams, the sunbeams draw freckles for the good deeds of the children. The person who collects the most freckles receives the magical feather of the firebird, which can bring laughter, joy and comfort. But the evil Queen of Darkness, whose aim is to destroy all happiness, is on the hunt for this feather. If she and her henchmen succeed in capturing it, the children will always be sad, cry and fight with each other. The protagonist Wesnianka and his friends, together with the sunbeams, must stop the Queen of Darkness, who only wants one thing: for darkness, fear and gloom to reign everywhere.

This two-act fairytale production by the Kiev Theatre of Modern Drama and Comedy is based on the classic children’s stories by Vsevolod Nestayko and focuses on the education of children, the ability to act selflessly and to help each other in difficulties.
